Text Box: Engine Company 3 is one of 33 Engine Companies operated by the District of Columbia Fire Department. Engine Company 3 responds to fires, accidents, hazardous materials incidents and medical emergencies in and around the Capitol Hill, Shaw, Trinidad, Eckington, Chinatown and Southwest Waterfront neighborhoods of the District of Columbia. It is staffed by one Officer and three Privates on four rotating 24 hour shifts. The members assigned and working with the Company train, eat, workout, sleep and respond to emergencies from the historic firehouse built in 1916. Engine 3 is presently using a 2002 Seagrave Wagon with a 1250 GPM pump and a 500 GWT. The Company responds to more that 5,000 emergency calls every year.
